Rules of badminton

The badminton playing rules had change over the years, it change from 15 points system with service over ( score to gain service ) women's singles 11 points system both must and matches are played to the best of 3sets -> 7 points system with service over best of 5 sets and back to 15 points system again in 2002.

In December 2005, the rules changed to 21 point system , played to the best of 3 sets. The winner of a rally scores a point regardless of who served. If the score reaches 20-20, the winner is the player or team with a two-point advantage. (note :when the server gain point he have to change to the other side of his court to serve, just remember odd score of his will be at the left , even score of his will stand at the right side of his court.

For example, both player A and player B reached 20-20, player A had to score constantly 2 points to make it 22-20 to win the set. IF player A did not did that, the score became 21-21, then it will have to add 2 points to make it 23 -21 to end the game. If the score goes up to 29-29, the winner is the first to reach 30 points.

As for double a team now has only one serve in doubles, rather than two under the old rules. Once the server team had gain a point server and his partner must switch side over to his partner half court.

Hope this help for badminton beginner
